Clubs, Committees, etc.
STUDENT COUNCILSponsor: Sandra Ragland; Officers: President-, Vice President-, Secretary/Treasurer- Members at Large: The 2009/2010 council will sponsor a canned food drive in conjunction with the Honor Society. They are also responsible for general tasks around the school such as maintaining the sign in the front lawn. Last year's council also re-painted the parking lot stripes on the gym and student parking lots this past year. Little things like this greatly facilitate safe and orderly parking for crowded events.
HONOR SOCIETY
Sponsor: Teresa Moore; Officers: President-, Vice Presisdent- , Secretary- Members 2010/2011: Alex Chandler, Sarah Egan Jones, Lori McMorrough, P.J. Pope, and Terri Warren. Honor society's members sponsor several ongoing projects in the fall including Quarter Days (every Friday) to benefit Blair Batson Children's Hospital, the canned food drive mentioned above, and a recent coloring book drive to benefit Blair Batson also.
FELLOWSHIP OF CHRISTIAN ATHLETESOfficers: President-, Vice President-, Secretary/Treasurer- As members of FCA, Benton Academy athletes are encouraged to display sportsmanlike conduct both on and off the playing field. Members of FCA attend various breakfast meetings and other get-togethers throughout the school year. They take a leadership role in "See You at the Pole," and "Fields of Faith," which are community outreach programs, as well as school functions.
SCIENCE CLUB2010/2011 officers are as follows: . The Science Club members are Seniors who have excelled in their four years of science classes at Benton Academy culminating in Physics their senior year. They experience a variety of lab activities that are designed to illustrate the impact of scientific theories on life around us.
MATH CLUBSponsor: Teresa Moore Members: The select group of students who comprise the Benton Academy Math Club are those who chose to take the higher level math courses available to them each year of high school. They must have advanced to the point that they are taking Advanced Math during their senior year. Students must maintain a "B" average to earn the privilege to hold office.
YEARBOOKThe Invictus Yearbook staff has been very busy this summer finalizing the '09-10 issue and planning for the coming year. They are very excited about the many surprises that are in the works. and the software improvements that will be utilized in the production process. The $70 fee required with registration reserves one yearbook for each patron family. You may purchase another if you desire more than one.
PROMThe 2010/2011 junior class is already discussing possible themes in anticipation of the spring prom.
